Anthropic names its first global affairs chief
Anthropic hired Tino Cuéllar, a former California Supreme Court justice, as its first Chief Global Affairs Officer to manage government relations.
Anthropic named Mariano-Florentino “Tino” Cuéllar as its first Chief Global Affairs Officer, based at the company’s San Francisco headquarters and reporting to president Daniela Amodei. Cuéllar is a former California Supreme Court justice who most recently led the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and served in the Obama administration on the White House Domestic Policy Council and, later, on the Biden administration’s President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. His mandate covers Anthropic’s relationships with governments, including the current Trump administration, which has at points restricted and imposed controls around Anthropic’s technology this year, and the growing list of countries where the company is expanding.
