Cursor agents can now read your Gmail and Calendar
Three new Cursor Marketplace plugins let coding agents search Drive, draft and send Gmail messages, and manage Calendar events directly.
Cursor launched three Google Workspace plugins through its Marketplace: Google Drive for file search and content management, Gmail for searching mail and drafting messages, and Google Calendar for viewing schedules, creating events and checking availability. The plugins let a Cursor agent act across a developer’s Workspace account directly from inside the editor, rather than requiring a separate integration or copy-pasting context in manually. It’s the kind of expanded reach that’s made Cursor’s own security disclosures worth watching closely as its agents gain access to more of a developer’s toolchain.
What it means for operators
This is part of a broader pattern of coding agents reaching past the codebase into the rest of a knowledge worker’s toolchain, mail, calendars, shared drives, that makes them more useful and also expands what can go wrong if an agent misreads an instruction. Before turning these on for a team account rather than a personal one, worth deciding explicitly what actions (sending mail, deleting files, moving events) require a human confirmation step versus running autonomously, since the plugin gives the agent the technical ability to do all of it without asking.
