DeepMind partners with EVE Online on game AI

Google DeepMind is using EVE Online, EVE Vanguard and EVE Frontier to train long-horizon agents, and deployed a Gemini-based tutorial guide for new players.
Google DeepMind announced a research partnership with Fenris Creations, the studio behind EVE Online, to use the game’s persistent universe, EVE Vanguard’s first-person mode, and EVE Frontier’s programmable architecture as a testbed for agents that need continual learning, long-horizon planning, and multi-agent interaction. DeepMind has already deployed Aura Guidance, a Gemini-powered system that walks new EVE Online players through tutorials in real time.
