Discovered Materials uses AI agents to propose chip-cooling materials, then validates candidates with physics simulation and lab work. Lightspeed India led.
Y Combinator graduate Discovered Materials raised a $9 million seed led by Lightspeed India Partners. Co-founders Advaith Sridhar and Akash Ramdas run AI agents on Anthropic’s models to generate candidate chip-cooling materials, cross-checked against physics simulation and lab validation, claiming thousands of AI-generated candidates a day versus roughly 20 manual guesses in traditional research.
