Microduck waddles, picks up objects, and recovers from falls, with its SDK, simulation environment, and RL training stack open on GitHub.
Hugging Face announced Microduck August 27, a 25-centimeter duck-shaped robot that can waddle, pick up objects up to 800 grams with its beak, recover from falls, and roller-skate, using a camera, lidar, and two inertial measurement units to sense its environment. Its SDK, simulation environment, and full reinforcement-learning training stack are open on GitHub, so behaviors trained in simulation can deploy straight to the physical robot. It’s the third robot from the team behind Hugging Face’s Pollen Robotics acquisition, after Reachy Mini and Reachy Mini Lite, and ships before Christmas 2026 at $399.
