n8n 2.35.0 ships Agent Builder test runs, human-in-the-loop review, Discord as an agent chat channel, and OAuth2 JWT auth for its Salesforce node.
n8n shipped version 2.35.0, adding test runs for its Agent Builder along with human-in-the-loop functionality so a person can review and approve an agent’s plan before it executes. The release also adds Discord as a supported agent chat channel, alongside existing options, and a workflow review system with diff-style change tabs. On the trigger side, the Salesforce Trigger node gains OAuth2 JWT authentication, and a Kafka node upgrade adds compression options. The update also sets the vm expression engine as the default, a change worth checking against any workflow relying on the old engine’s behavior.
What it means for you
Test runs and human-in-the-loop review directly target the biggest risk in agent workflows: an agent taking an unreviewed action on your data or a customer’s. If you run n8n for agent orchestration, this release is a reasonable one to adopt promptly rather than let sit, since it adds a review step rather than removing one. Combine it with the guidance in agents don’t follow your policy docs if you’re using n8n to enforce process on agent behavior, and check your existing workflows against the new default expression engine before it changes behavior on you.
