OpenAI details its EU AI Act compliance push
OpenAI says it will sign the EU's GPAI and content-transparency codes of practice, pursue AI Gigafactory consortiums, and expand ChatGPT Edu in Estonia.
OpenAI laid out its European strategy on July 31, saying it intends to sign the EU’s General-Purpose AI Code of Practice and its Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content, submit expressions of interest to join AI Gigafactory consortiums, and expand ChatGPT Edu into Estonian secondary schools. The company also pointed to its Preparedness and Frontier Governance Frameworks as its answer to the AI Act’s GPAI risk-management requirements, alongside continued work with the Frontier Model Forum, US CAISI, and UK AISI on shared safety evaluation standards.
