Stanford: AI jobs damage still small overall
A Stanford SIEPR brief finds AI's overall jobs effect is still small, but recent grads in software and customer service face weaker entry-level demand.
A July policy brief from Stanford’s SIEPR, by Neale Mahoney, Erika McEntarfer, and Karsen Wahal, finds AI’s effect on overall employment remains small: unemployment for workers most exposed to AI rose 0.77 points since 2022, versus 0.85 points for the least exposed. The exception is recent graduates, where AI appears to be softening entry-level demand in software development and customer service.
