Whatnot, the live-shopping marketplace that recently passed 1 billion orders, acquired real-time recommendation startup Shaped on July 15. Shaped’s team, led by founder Tullie Murrell, joins to run Whatnot’s new Applied AI Research group, addressing personalization on a marketplace where auctions can end in minutes rather than sit on a stable catalog.
