Grok Bot expands to more Cursor plans

xAI widened access to Grok Bot, its autonomous coding-and-tasks agent, to SuperGrok Plus and all paid Cursor plans, plus a free trial for everyone else.
xAI expanded access to Grok Bot, the persistent AI teammate it launched in beta on August 11, to SuperGrok Plus subscribers and every paid Cursor plan, Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, and both tiers of Cursor Teams. Beta access had been limited to the top tiers, SuperGrok Heavy and Cursor Ultra or Cursor Teams Premium. Everyone else now gets a free trial with limited usage. Grok Bot runs as a cloud-based agent with its own virtual machine, letting it sign into apps, manage files, and carry a task from start to finish rather than working turn by turn inside a chat window.
The expansion follows Grok 4.6’s August 12 launch, which gave xAI a 500,000-token context window aimed at coding and long-running agent work, and it deepens xAI’s existing distribution deal with Cursor rather than opening a new one.
What it means for you
If you already pay for Cursor Pro+ or a Teams plan, Grok Bot is now included at no extra cost, worth a real trial against whatever agent harness you currently run for multi-step coding tasks. The broader pattern matters more than this one update: xAI is routing Grok’s agent products through an existing coding-tool partnership rather than building its own IDE, a distribution strategy closer to Cursor’s own origin as a VS Code fork than to a ground-up product push. It’s also the latest expansion in xAI’s build-out of agentic tools since Grok 4.6 shipped, so expect the free-trial tier to widen further if adoption holds.
