Google enables AI training on voice and Lens data

Google updated Search Services History to allow AI training on voice searches and Lens images by default. Users must opt out explicitly.

Google’s updated Search Services History settings include a new clause enabling the company to use images, files, video, and audio from Google Lens, Search, and Gemini Live interactions to train and improve AI models. The setting activates by default. Users can turn it off under Account Settings, then Data and Privacy, then Search Services History. A sub-setting called Saved Media controls whether Lens uploads and voice audio are stored at all; disabling it also prevents them from being used for training.
