The University of Pittsburgh’s Human Engineering Research Laboratories, with ARPA-H funding of up to $41.5 million, is building RAMMP, a robotic assistive mobility and manipulation platform for wheelchair users, using Meta’s AI models alongside digital-twin simulation; Meta says the work targets a real problem, over 100,000 wheelchair-related injuries treated in US emergency departments annually.
