NewCore raises $66M to govern AI agents
NewCore left stealth with $66M to give AI agents their own identities, permissions, and kill switches, valuing the startup at $300M.
NewCore came out of stealth on June 15 with $66 million to manage AI agents the way companies manage employees: with their own logins, permissions, and a kill switch. The seed round, led by Cyberstarts with Index Ventures and Evolution Equity Partners, values the cybersecurity startup at $300 million. Its pitch is that AI agents should be treated as first-class identities, not the shared service accounts most companies bolt on today, so each agent has a lifecycle you can audit and revoke. Co-founder and chief executive Zohar Alon previously built the cloud-security firm Dome9, sold to Check Point.
The backdrop is real adoption. McKinsey says 25,000 AI agents already work alongside its 60,000 people, and Goldman Sachs tested a coding agent as a hire last year. Okta and Microsoft’s Entra are adding agent features to their existing identity tools; NewCore argues those are bolted on and pitches a system built for humans and agents together.
Why this matters
If you are handing an AI agent access to your email, billing, or codebase, the question is no longer just whether it works but what it can touch, who approved that, and how fast you can cut it off. The agentic-enterprise push is accelerating, and Salesforce just paid $3.6 billion for one support-agent company. You do not need a $66 million platform to keep up. You need each agent on its own credentials, scoped to the minimum it needs, with an owner and an off switch you have actually tested. The verification habit and a privacy baseline are where a one-person shop gets most of this for free.
