Tempus AI to acquire Personalis for $1.5B

Tempus AI agreed to acquire cancer-genomics company Personalis for roughly $1.5 billion, paying $16.25 per share primarily in Tempus stock with an option to pay up to half in cash. The deal folds Personalis’ molecular residual disease testing, which tracks trace cancer DNA after treatment, into Tempus’ AI-driven precision-oncology platform. Both boards have approved the transaction, which is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027 pending shareholder and regulatory approval.
