AI coding startup Emergent hits unicorn
Emergent raised $130M at a $1.5B valuation, a 5x jump in four months, on $120M ARR and 200,000-plus paying customers for its vibe-coding platform.
Emergent, an AI coding platform founded in June 2025, has raised a $130 million Series C led by Creaegis at a $1.5 billion valuation, five times where it stood just four months ago. Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, Y Combinator, MNI Ventures-Claypond, and Sentinel Global also participated, bringing total funding to $230 million.
The company reports $120 million in annual recurring revenue, up 70% in the last four months, and more than 200,000 paying customers. Its prior round, a $70 million Series B in January 2026, valued it at $300 million. Revenue is roughly evenly split across North America, Europe, and other markets, with India, its home market, accounting for 8-9% of the total.
Emergent’s product lets users build software through natural-language prompts rather than code, part of the crowded “vibe coding” category that also includes Replit, Lovable, and Cursor’s own agent modes. What distinguishes this round is the pace: five times the valuation in a third of a year, on revenue growth that outpaces most enterprise SaaS comps by a wide margin.
For operators evaluating AI coding platforms for internal tooling or customer-facing products, Emergent’s numbers are a useful benchmark for what strong product-market fit looks like in this category right now, and a reminder that the vibe-coding market is still consolidating around a handful of well-capitalized leaders rather than settling into a stable set of players.
