Autonomous trucking company Gatik closed a $200M Series D led by Qatar's sovereign fund, aiming to grow its driverless fleet past 100 trucks this year.
Gatik announced a $200 million Series D on August 25. Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies led the round, joined by Millennium Management, ARK Invest, and Intact Private Capital, taking the company’s total funding to roughly $500 million. Gatik operates fully driverless trucks that move goods between distribution centers and stores for retailers including Walmart and Loblaws, on fixed routes in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, and Ontario, Canada. The company says it has over $600 million in contracted revenue, has completed more than 85,000 fully driverless orders with 99% on-time delivery, and plans to use the new money to expand its route network and grow its fleet from dozens of trucks today to more than 100 by the end of 2026.
The raise follows Gatik’s largest commercial agreement to date, a multi-year partnership with PepsiCo announced in June.
What it means for you
The specificity here, contracted revenue, completed order counts, on-time delivery rate, is worth noting precisely because most funding announcements in this sector lean on projections instead. If you’re evaluating autonomous-logistics vendors or just tracking where real AI-driven automation revenue is showing up first, middle-mile freight on fixed, pre-mapped routes between distribution centers and stores looks like one of the more commercially proven near-term use cases, distinct from the harder, more general robotaxi problem.
