Cline 4.0.7 drops GLM 5.1, adds free tabs
Cline v4.0.7 removes GLM 5.1 from ClinePass, adds Subscribed and Free model tabs, and delivers a one-click path to usage-based billing when limits are hit.
Cline v4.0.7, out July 9, removes all references to GLM 5.1 from the ClinePass provider. This is a breaking change: any workflow, integration, or script pinned to GLM 5.1 on ClinePass stops working on upgrade. Check your provider settings before applying the update.
Two ClinePass changes ship alongside. The model picker now has Subscribed and Free tabs so users can select free-tier models directly, with descriptions shown inline. A new limit-reached error state surfaces when you hit a ClinePass usage cap, with one click to switch to Cline’s usage-based billing rather than hitting a dead end with no path forward.
The companion CLI (v3.0.39, published the same day) fixes two issues that affect long sessions: str_replace edits now report accurate diffs, and a context compaction bug that was discarding canonical session history has been resolved.
What it means for you
GLM 5.1 removal is the only item here that breaks an existing setup. Everything else makes ClinePass model selection more navigable and adds a cleaner exit when you hit usage limits. The CLI compaction fix is worth applying if you run long coding sessions and have been losing context history, a failure mode that has shown up before alongside tool-call handling issues in weaker models.
