TwelveLabs raises $100M for video AI

TwelveLabs closes a $100M Series B co-led by NEA and NAVER Ventures, with Amazon participating, to expand its video understanding models into agents.

TwelveLabs announced a $100M Series B on July 1. NEA and NAVER Ventures co-led the round. Amazon joined, alongside Index Ventures, Korea Investment Partners, Radical Ventures, Quadrille Capital, and the more unexpected Red Bull Ventures. Total raised passes $207M. The money goes to R&D, expanded operations in San Francisco and Seoul, and new offices in New York and London.

The product direction is the notable part. TwelveLabs built its name on video understanding models: Marengo 3.0 embeds every sound, word, and motion in footage into a searchable semantic layer, and Pegasus 1.5 turns video into structured data like scene boundaries, entities, and temporal segments. The Series B is framed around going further, from perception models to a full agentic system for video that combines perception, knowledge, and reasoning.

Red Bull as an investor is the tell for the use case: organizations sitting on decades of footage want to search it, license it, and cut it without armies of loggers. Amazon and NVIDIA backing the same company signals the infrastructure side sees volume coming.

Video is following the path text took two years ago, from model demo to line item. The Kling AI raise the same week shows the generation side drawing even bigger checks. If you hold media archives, the AI images business guide covers the rights questions that arrive the moment footage becomes trainable, searchable data.
